A native Arkansan, I live in a small town west of Mountain View. Although it takes me 50 minutes to get to school each day, I drive it graciously knowing that I work in one of the best schools in the state. It is a privilege to begin this new journey at the elementary school after having worked at the high school for the past five years.
I have not always been a school teacher--I tried waitressing, accounting and managing businesses. I never felt content. It became apparent, after watching my son struggle with a learning disability, that I could offer something to other children. So, I finally finished my degree in 2011 and have been teaching at Norfork since that time. I would not want to work anywhere else!
My high school sweetheart, Micheal, and I have two sons - Logan and Garrett. Logan will be turning 21 this year and has just been accepted into nursing school at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. Garrett, having just turned 16, is driving himself to high school to begin his 11th grade year. After 22 years of marriage, Micheal and I can clearly see that our lives are about to dramatically change with an empty house. I feel exceptionally blessed to have a classroom full of children, each day, who lessen the missing of my own babies.
I firmly believe that it takes EVERYONE working together to raise a child--parents, grandparents, siblings, teachers and the child. I hope that as we begin this journey, you and I will form a bond dedicated to helping your child reach his/her fullest potential. Please contact me anytime if you have questions or concerns. I'm here for ONE reason - your child!
